About Me

Dr. Bowen was born and raised in Texas. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Neuroscience (awarded to valedictorian). He received his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School, where he was admitted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society (awarded to select students in the top 20% of his graduating class). While in medical school, Dr. Bowen also simultaneously received his Master of Public Health degree from UTHealth. He then moved to Seattle in 2017 and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Washington. After residency, he worked as an attending psychiatrist at the Seattle VA before ultimately deciding to enter private practice. Dr. Bowen is board-certified in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to the psychotherapy training he received during residency, Dr. Bowen is currently receiving additional specialized training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society & Institute.
